I've been working on a jumbo log cabin quilt for one of the cool young men in my life. This is one of the only quilts I've ever made without solid fabrics, and I'm certainly missing them while quilting. I still think it is going to have a wonderfully scrappy vintage feeling when it is finished. The brighter Ikat fabric is sporadically spread through the design, and I love it so much. This picture doesn't quite do it justice, but when I have it all finished I'll post a full on shot. You'd never think that fabric belonged with all of this homespun and reproduction fabric, but I say it works marvelously! My great-grandmother and her wild color sense would definitely agree!
